Breadbelly’s second location brings new life to Building 12 at Pier 70, a restored WWII-era industrial landmark on San Francisco’s eastern waterfront. The project transforms the historic structure into a modern bakery and production hub within a campus now home to a mix of creators, makers, and community spaces.
Project Highlights
Opened in June 2025, the new bakery offers four times the kitchen capacity of Breadbelly’s original Richmond District café—supporting expanded catering, events, and pop-up operations across the Bay Area. Designed in collaboration with Pho Architects, JHP Engineering, and Ashley Vance, the 3,720 SF interior blends aesthetic refinement, functional layout, and advanced mechanical systems to meet high production demands while maintaining a warm, inviting environment.
Impact
The project reflects Breadbelly’s evolution from a neighborhood café into a regional culinary brand, while also contributing to the revitalization of San Francisco’s Pier 70 district—linking heritage architecture with contemporary craftsmanship and community.
